My Cup Runneth Over

The two vessels shown below joined together in the kiln while being fired yesterday.  I imagine either I did not notice them touching or and I think this is more likely, when loading other work I tapped the bowl into the cup.  All I can do about it now is use it for a humorous example of results when total care is not given.

All in all yesterday's kiln firing was successful only a couple of over drips and our of the 40 pieces only 6 will be banished from my studio.  Actually, if I was of stronger mind, I would toss them now but I just can't toss them when in the back of my mind I think I can restore them.

Another lesson that this kiln run has taught me is the need to take more care in the glazing and not rush through it. Sad but true my nemesis has always been seeing the finishing line and running towards it throwing care to the winds....

I will preview the new work here tomorrow when they are cooler to the touch.

Any questions please feel free to ask.
